RP Introduction

What They Need is Treatment Instead of Confinement
An American research indicates that, averagely, the probability for a female to be rapped during her lifetime is 13% to 44%. According to National Police Agency, the cases of compulsory sexual assault in Taiwan increases 299% from 1991 to 2002. However, the experts estimate that the real statistics must be 5 to 10 times higher than the official ones (qtd. in Hou 001). Rape has become a serious problem which threatens Taiwanese women. The way our government treats the rapists is to imprison them from months to years and then release them. It seems that we easily believe those rapists would regret while staying in the jail and would behave themselves after coming out. Still, to most rapists, especially serial rapists, simply putting them into jail cannot solve any problem. Their probability of committing crimes again after release is 100%. People tend to reckon what impels those rapists to assault women is the need of “sex”. Nevertheless, a report shows that one third of the rapists have mates or girlfriends. “The satisfaction of sex” cannot explain why they abandon normal ways and choose to attack innocent women (Chen 4). In consequence, what the government needs to do is to try to find out their real problems and let experts to offer them proper treatment while they are serving their sentences. Mere imprisonment is useless to those patients.

It’s good to see your post here.

Also, I noticed that you edited the links related to your RP.
But, I have one question for you.
Did you change the direction of your RP?
From what I saw in your RP outline 2 here, you mentioned the term “serial killer”.
Why you didn’t talk about this in your RP introduction?
If you have new version of you RP outline, could you also post it here for us to review?

good, your intruduction is attractive! maybe you can read some"犯罪心理學"to find out those who have already had girlfriends still want to rape others, or why it is almost 100% for them to make the crime again and again.
